The Bicycle Story

le tour

L'Alpe d'Huez
The tour is well in the mountains and I am excited. I’ve been sneaking a look at the live coverage in the mornings to see if the Schleck brothers are able to shake off Cadel the muppet.

I have no shame in admitting my love for the spandex and carbon. It doesn’t mean I have to use them myself. Play safe boys.

“cadel the muppet,” that’s perfect!

btw isn’t it nice to watch the mountain stages and have our local passes as a point of reference? last year, watching le tour, all i could think of was, “would be able to ride a mountain pass?”

but then again, it pains me to think of how fast (> 20 mph!) they’d climb “easy” local passes like Snoqualmie.. also interesting to see the Col d’ Lombard at 2,000 meters of elevation, while stevens is at a lowly ~1,000 meter height. makes it seem tiny in comparison. ouch.

then again they’re mostly doping, so comparing them to us is… useless.
