Rando season has arrived

Winter is latched on to this city like a tick, but I’m confident that spring is just around the corner for us. The weather keeps threatening to warm up to a relatively comfortable medium, only to dip back down below freezing. I lost my ice scraper at some point. Our CD cases have been getting a workout on the car windshield on the rare times that I haven’t been bike commuting.
With Spring, comes randonneuring season for me. I fell out of lust with the sport at some point after the Cascade 1240K last fall. I think I just needed the break though. I’m starting to get excited about the upcoming year.
Here is an outline of my tentative schedule:
March 5th – SIR 100k Populaire
March 19th - SIR 200k : Snohomish > Marysville > Stanwood >Granite Falls > Everett > Finish
March 26th – ORR (Oregon) 3 Capes 300k : Forest Grove > Tillamook > Pacific City > Grand Ronde > Finish
April 9th – SIR Granite Falls 300k : U Village > Mercer Island > Carnation > Granite Falls > Mt Vernon > Everett > Finish
April 29th – NW Fleche : Portland > Tillamook > Centrailia (Here is my account from last year)
May 14th – SIR Baker Lake 400K : Redmond > Arlington > Darrington > Marblemount > Baker Lake > Arlington > Finish
June 4th & 5th – SIR Tahuya Hills 600K : Seattle > Morton > Centrailia > Elma > Potlatch > Belfair > Tahuya Hills (PAIN) > Port Gamble > Bainbridge Island
August 21st through 25th – Paris Brest Paris : Coup de grĂ¢ce. Part of what I’ve been working towards. “… is for retrogrouches what Monster Track is for ‘hipsters.’” (BSNYC)
These are all tentative, of course. I’ve got to finish the series (200-600k) if I want to get to Paris though. Here we go…
