I spent all day at Swedish Hospital yesterday.
My PET/CT scan came back negative but the lump in my arm came back “hot”. My doctor still seems pretty nonchalant about the whole deal. He doesn’t tend to BS me, so I am hopeful. The PET basically shows if anything is “active” in my body. So if I had any inflammation in my body it will register.
I am going back in Friday to get it cut out. Whatever it is will be biopsied. The good news either way is that I caught it early. Even if it is cancerous, it hasn’t spread anywhere else in my body. We just need to cut it out.
I’m still planning on doing the 200k Saturday, possibly in an arm sling and sedated… (kidding).
Interestingly, they failed to scan the portion of my arm with the bump yesterday. The scans showed my entire body up until that point in my arm. I initially got a clean bill of health report and was about to get sent out of the door. When I quizzed them down a little more about the arm, things were double checked. I went back in for more scans to focus on my arm. I might have gone another 6 months without taking care of it otherwise.
The whole deal kind of harshed my mellow yesterday. I was looking forward to getting home early and maybe going for a bike ride. Instead, I got back much later than I would have were I working, and laid around watching movies. I am not worried at all actually, I just didn’t want to have to deal with more of this crap.
I apologize to everyone that I failed to call last night. I just didn’t want to explain it over and over. It makes me over analyze the whole situation. I’ll get around to talking to you all.

I’m glad you caught whatever it is early. I hope you’re still able to ride this weekend.
